According to Tian liming, Secretary General of China Dyestuff Industry Association, from January to June 2010, China's dyestuff production basically recovered to the production level that many experts believed to have reached in the first half of 2007-2008. According to the statistical data analysis of China Dyestuff Association in the first half of the year, the output of China's major dyestuff and organic pigment manufacturers increased significantly year-on-year. The main dye producing areas in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shandong have a good growth momentum, which has played an important role in the recovery and steady development of the whole industry

first, the output increased steadily. From January to June, the national dye output was 385000 tons from the distance of molten material activity, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year; The sales revenue was 10.3 billion yuan, an increase of 20.6% year-on-year. The output basically recovered to the production level before the financial crisis, but the product sales revenue decreased

second, the export volume and export earning foreign exchange maintained a year-on-year growth momentum. From January to may, 113400 tons of dyes were exported, with a year-on-year increase of 30.8%; Foreign exchange earnings from exports reached US $480million, an increase of 44.3% year-on-year. In the first half of the year, dye exports and foreign exchange earnings basically maintained a slight growth trend, but the growth rate was relatively slow. Compared with dyes, the export of organic pigments increased more year-on-year. From January to may, the export of organic pigments nationwide was 62000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 48.8%; The export of organic pigments earned foreign exchange of nearly US $400million, an increase of 57.4% year-on-year

third, the import of dyeing pigments has increased significantly year-on-year. Customs statistics show that from January to may, the national dye import reached 22000 tons, an increase of about 30% year-on-year; The use of foreign exchange was US $180million, an increase of 32.5% year-on-year. The import growth of organic pigments is larger than that of dyes. From January to may, more than 9000 tons of organic pigments were imported, with a year-on-year increase of 51.5%; The use of foreign exchange was more than 90 million US dollars, an increase of 85.4% year-on-year

as for the production and operation in the second half of the year, Tian Liming believes that there are still many variables. First, the month on month growth rate of export volume is very slow. According to this trend, it may be difficult for exports to grow significantly in the second half of the year. Second, at present, dye enterprises have received orders from the downstream printing and dyeing and textile industries, which are not very prosperous. Third, it is hard to say whether the sovereign debt crisis in Europe will have a chain reaction. Tian Liming also said that China's dye industry is now in the international brand time, and it is in great need of state support for national industry. It is hoped that the government departments will resume the export tax rebate policy for dye products that adopt high-tech, energy-saving and emission reduction processes in the dye industry, such as disperse dyes, reactive dyes, VAT indigo, organic pigments and color masterbatches
